Hey y’all. I successfully defended my dissertation this morning. Just call me Dr. Sista Outsider! 🙂
Love and light,
S.O.
Y’all ready? I’m writing from 8-9:30 every morning.  I could use a writing buddy or three or four. 🙂
What is your writing schedule for NaNoWriMo?
S.O.
Have y’all seen the new BLF Press website? If not, hop on over and tell me what you think. While you’re there, please sign up for our newsletter. We’ve got some exciting news coming up about the Lez Talk anthology and I don’t want you to miss anything.
Love and light,
S.O.
Y’all. A sista has been busy!  I’ve moved, leaving crazy monochromatic rural PA for the warmth of the southern climes.  You can say what you want about the South, but at least I know them devils.
I’m writing like my life depends on it, and in an way, it does. Graduation is December 20, so if we can settle on a defense date, I’ll be graduating this winter. Finally.
The anthology is coming along nicely; we have a wonderful group of writers who have submitted a wide range of stories about Black lesbians that I just know y’all are going to love. We are in the final stages of editing right now, and I’ll update you on the publication date soon.
I’ve missed y’all. What have you been doing while I’ve been away?
S.O.
Hi all,
It’s been a minute since I’ve updated this blog, but a sista has been busy! Also, still reeling from last week’s terrorist attack on Mother Emanuel church in Charleston. I’m simultaneously enraged and heartbroken, and trying to figure out what more I can do to help.
I’ve created a Facebook page (finally!) for BLF Press. Please like and share if you are able. We are still accepting submissions for our first book, so feel free to share that little tidbit with your writer friends.  As most of you know, this is a collaborative project with Resolute Publishing, another independent Black lesbian press. We truly believe that there are more of us supporting each other than not, and we need to let folks know about it. If you haven’t signed up for our project newsletter, please do so at Blacklesbianfiction.com.  We’ll be sending out an update soon with information about preorders and such.
Thank you for showing us so much love thus far. How can we support your in your work? Please share links and news and let me know what you’re working on.
Love and light,
Stephanie
Did you catch our show featuring Sheree L. Greer last night? If not, here’s link to the interview!
